Atlanta Community Food Bank
Major Capital Campaign
What an incredible year for the Atlanta Apartment Association. Our industry has a lot to celebrate for what we have accomplished together and so much to be thankful for. The same can be said for AAA’s partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
Our Food-A-Thon is one of the best representations of what we do so well as an Association—the power of coming together, of engaging our residents, employees and friends to serve those in need in our community. Because of our work together, families had food on their tables this holiday season and more blessings to count. That is something we can all be proud of!
Despite our Food-a-Thon successes and the tremendous impact ACFB currently has in the local community, needs around hunger and food insecurity continue to grow each year. As a result, the Food Bank has embarked on a $51 million Growing Healthy Futures Capital Campaign. Support for the campaign will enable the Food Bank to dramatically increase the number of meals provided, from 61.6 million today to 130 million meals annually by 2028.
Together, with multifamily industry leaders and AAA members, the Food bank hopes to raise more than one million dollars to recognize AAA in the new facility’s Volunteer Training Center. Thousands of volunteers will visit this new training center each year and see how integral multifamily housing is to the fabric and growth of the greater Atlanta community. In honor of our 31 year partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank, the Atlanta Apartment Association’s Board of Directors recently voted to support the Food Bank’s new capital campaign with a onetime gift of $125,000, paid in $25,000 increments over five years.
As we head into the holidays and season of giving, please consider making a personal or corporate gift to the Food Bank’s Capital Campaign at http://engage.acfb.org/growing-healthy-futures or to Atlanta Community Food Bank c/o AAA Campaign Gift, 732 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd, NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.
If you have questions or want to learn more about the Campaign, we invite you to reach out to Jerry Wilkinson, Capital Campaign member or Kyle Waide at the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
We are proud of our commitment of giving back to the community. Our Association has no peer in the country with such a significant and lasting partnership as we have with the Food Bank. Together, we are ensuring that no one has to go hungry today or in the future.
