Look who's in the know! 

Joel Spencer, Regional Manager CAPS, CAMT

After being in the industry for 16 years on the maintenance side, I realized I had a gap in my knowledge when transitioning to corporate roles. While I’d consistently sought additional training, I lacked experience in administrative and financial aspects. The CAPS course proved to be an ideal solution, providing me with a deeper understanding of the economic aspects of a portfolio, including concepts like Net Operating Income (NOI) and asset valuation. This newfound knowledge enabled me to confidently engage in discussions and decision-making processes that I previously found challenging.

"The CAM class helped me reevaluate my property management skills. I’ve been on-site for over 19 years and I was still able to learn new financial and risk management skills. I took what I learned in my CAM class and immediately applied it to my everyday operations on-site. Then, I wanted to learn more, and I was encouraged to get my CAPS certification. We always need to continue to learn and meet our peers to grow in our industry"
